Steps By Step Guide To Connect Apple TV To Alexa

The Harmony Hub is built with ultra-uniqueness and versatility. Currently, it is designed to allow us to connect with over 270,000 devices, including Apple TV. 

Step 1: Gather The Required Tools and Equipment

Pairing Apple TV with Alexa is quite a complicated process. Apple users need essential equipment to connect TVs with Alexa easily. The necessary items include: 

  • Amazon Echo Dot or Amazon Echo speakers. 
  • Hub devices such as Harmony Hub. 
  • Apple TV integrated with flat television.  
  • Apple TV account  
  • Alexa account 

Step 2: Prepare Harmony Hub Device:  

First, connect the Harmony hub remote to Wi-Fi and ensure that Apple TV and Alexa are connected with the Same Wi-Fi. 

Then, download the Harmony hub app on Apple TV to access the hub device. Create an account and then locate the Harmony Hub remote. 

Step 3: Pair Apple TV With Harmony Hub App: 

Pairing hub apps with Apple TV is necessary. This is done by the Open Harmony Hub app.

Go to setting. Looking for device options and then finding out the session to pair the hub with Apple TV. The last step is to Click the Connect option on Apple TV. 

Ensure during the steps of Pairing the TV with Hub there is a good Internet connection. Otherwise, it will create problems. 

Step 4: Connect Hub App To Connect Apple TV to Alexa: 

To connect the Harmony hub app with Alexa, Go to Harmony App and create Activity. Then, Go to voice command to operate Alexa and Apple TV.

Once an activity list is created for Alexa and Apple TV, users can now pair up and control Alexa on Apple TV. 

Step 5: Activate Alexa for Apple TV: 

The last step is to activate Alexa on Apple Devices. 

To do this, you must say aloud Alexa and Watch the Apple TV device in front of Alexa speakers. This will enable Alexa to access any content on your Apple TV, and you will be good to go!

Other Alternative Ways To Connect Alexa With Apple TV:

If the Harmony Hub method doesn’t work, there are many alternative ways being used to connect Alexa to Apple TV.

Other than Harmony hub, these methods include Pairing with Bluetooth and a through a cable connection. Both include a complete process, which is explained below. 

Direct Bluetooth Connection: 

To connect Alexa and Apple TV, pair them with Bluetooth. On Apple TV, go to the Settings Section, select Remote and Devices, and then select Bluetooth from it. 

  • Put Amazon Echo speakers by saying Alexa pair on pairing mode. 
  • Select Echo device from list of Bluetooth devices that are available on start the connection. 
  • Make sure the Volume is 100% on Apple TV, and then it can be controlled easily. 

Connection Via a Cable: 

Users can connect the two (Alexa and Apple TV) by using HDMI cable transfer. The process for connecting Apple TV and Alexa via cable is as follows; 

  • Go to the settings section on Apple TV, select audio and video, tab on the default Audio option, and pick TV speakers. 
  • Connect a 3.5mm cable with the Alexa Amazon device and Apple TV. 
  • To avoid Audio disturbance, again, return to the Apple TV setting and choose the Audio option to switch off TV speakers. 
  • Also, ensure while connecting Alexa with Apple TV that the Alexa device is connected to a Bluetooth network to avoid audio interruptions.

Yes, we can connect Apple TV to Amazon Echo.  On Apple TV, go to settings and select remote and device, then select Bluetooth. Put Amazon Echo on pairing mode by just saying Alexa pair. No, we can’t pair Apple TV with Alexa. It can only be done by using third-party hubs, and it requires a little bit of procedural steps.
